Dr. Debra Hinson | TriBeta Sponsor

Dr. Debra Hinson

I’m Dr. Hinson, and I have been the Faculty Sponsor of Omicron Kappa since its beginning in 2012. I love TriBeta and all that it represents and the opportunities it affords students. I have a Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics from Baylor University and teach Genetics, Microbiology, Molecular Genetics, and Immunology. I live on a small farm with my husband and kids. I love to cook, sing and act in my local theatre, and do things with my kids.

Leine | TriBeta Officer

Madeleine Newby-Estrella

Hey there, fellow biology scholars! My name is Leine, and I’m a junior at DBU. This school is such a blessing for those looking to enrich their education in a nurturing, Christ-centered environment, especially alongside fellow God-loving, aspiring scientists influenced by amazing faculty! I am a Cell Biology major and am getting double minors in Chemistry and Kinesiology. I graduate in May and plan to go to medical school to become an orthopedic surgeon. Ultimately, I would like to get both my MD/PhD sometime after leaving DBU, as I know the Lord has called me to medicine and scientific research. I love to figure skate, play piano, listen to music, go on adventures, and of course—study! I am so grateful to be the President for the Omicron Kappa Chapter of TriBeta! I look forward to doing my part towards making our new chapter a strong and successful organization.

Hey everyone! My name is Makayla Dollins, and I am a junior biology major here at DBU. I’ve lived in Texas my whole life, but in the future, I plan on becoming a doctor and serving as a missionary to wherever God calls me overseas! I love reading books (both new and the classics), doing crafty things like painting, and working with kids. (: I’m excited for this year and all the fun things we have planned, and I’m looking forward to serving y’all as Vice President! I can’t wait to see how the Lord is going to work through TriBeta and all of our members!

Hello, I am Josh Williams. I am a 22 year old senior at Dallas Baptist University. I am majoring in Biology and double minoring in Business and Chemistry. Even though I was born in Arkansas, I consider myself a full-fledged, loyal and proud Texan. I plan to go to Texas A&M Baylor Dental School (Lord willing) and become a dentist after I graduate from DBU. I look forward to being the Treasurer of Tribeta and serving each one of you. God Bless!

Hi! My name’s Courtney, and I will be serving as Events Coordinator during my senior year here at DBU. I will be graduating May 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and, Lord willing, plan to continue my education working on my MBA/MHA. I love traveling and being with those I love. Right now my favorite verse is Hebrews 11:1, and my favorite Bible passage is John 21. I am excited for this year in TriBeta! To God be the glory.
